Celebration of Learning and Peace Night
January 30 – Learning Celebration and Montessori PEACE Night Thursday January 30 presents plenty of great learning opportunities for our community. 1:30 - 2:30pm 4:00 – 6:00pm There are two time slots to come to your child’s class and celebrate their learning. Children will be prepared to share their current and most recent learning in Science and Social. Many classrooms will also have robotics, health, literacy and math activities available for your children to share with you. This is a great opportunity to reflect on the current learning discussed and shared in the report card, their next steps and best ways to support them. It is also hoped you will see many other curricular areas, not written about in the report card but where indicators of achievement were shared. If a picture is worth 1000 words, imagine what an experience is worth. We encourage all families to take this time to examine their child’s work and how it relates to what was shared in the report card. ...
Report Card Talk
On Tuesday, Ms. McCullough talked to students about report cards and we reviewed what each indicator meant. Students gave me a report card as well for areas I did well in and areas I could improve on. I have taken their feedback and am excited in use many of their ideas in my upcoming lessons and planning. It can be helpful for children to hear areas in your jobs or lives that you feel you do well at and areas you would like to improve on or goals you have set for yourself. Our class has been doing very well at reflecting on their learning and have posted pieces of work they are most proud of to their iris accounts. https://iris.cbe.ab.ca/Account/LogIn?ReturnUrl=%2F Username and passwords are in their blue folders. Please let them show you their work and celebrate with your child the progress and learning they have done so far this year!
