Witch's Brew Recipe
What fun and exciting day we had! We followed a recipe to make "witch's brew" with a partner. Some students wrote the recipe out so they could do it at home too. Next week, we will be writing our very own recipe! Please have your child follow a simple recipe to make something that they can write about. Here are some ideas they came up with: Make a sandwich Make crackers and cheese Make popcorn Make cereal It needs only a few ingredients and probably no more than 6 steps. This is also a great way to foster independence in your child! You can even encourage them to take responsibility of starting to pack their own morning snack. Peace Education
Today we worked expressing our feelings and resolving conflict. We use our peace table and a peace flower to help us resolve conflict with others. Here are the steps we practiced following: 1. Say you have a problem 2. Go to the Peace Table or quiet spot 3. Face each other and take 3 big breaths together 4. Take the peace flower and express your feelings and why. I feel _______ because_____________. 5. Pass the peace flower. Other person says what they heard and expresses their side. I heard you feel ________ because _______. I felt ______ because ________. 6. Move forward for to find a resolution. Share ideas. 7. Pass the Peace Flower back and forth until you both agree on how to solve the conflict. 8. Shake hands!
