Building without Adhesives

Today we did an activity to learn
the importance of adhesives as part of our science building unit.
We tried working in a group to stack cards
to build the tallest tower with no
tape our glue!
It was a challenge!
Here are some photos of our successes
but it didn't take much for our structures to fall.
As we begin building next week,
we will assess what type of adhesive will work best for 
our structure.

Gerbil Amusement Park

Story Writing

Today we finished our first story! We began with brainstorming characters and settings and descriptive words for both. We came up with ideas for either a lost story or a stuck story. We thought of 3 ways our character  could try to solve the problem, finally solving it on the third try! Then we came up with interesting ways to end our story such as the character's feelings, a lesson learned or a reflection. We are very proud of our hard work and look forward to sharing our stories at conferences with you in March!
